007 - Die Another Day - fast credit scroll

Hello all, Before I joined the "real world" and settled down into an office job, my previous occupation was in the film industry - and my last movie was James Bond 20. (I was involved in the electronics for the cars, some gadgets (some of which were cut!) and control systems for explosions as well as a couple of days on location doing the minefield hovercraft chase.) :cool: I saw the film last night (with wife Sian :rose: ), but the end credits flew past too quickly for either of us to spot my name - the special effects crew was about 100 people in total, mostly listed in a big block together. I was wondering if I made it into the list (I was only on the film for four months before this job came up) or wether my early departure caused me to be removed from the list. :confused: It wasn't half as glamarous or fun as people think - and after a solid couple of months just making wiring looms and fitting relays into boxes for 12-13 hours/day :zzz:, I left... but that's another story! So... if any of you goes to see "Die another day" over the weekend and you happen to spot me in the list, please could you let me know (samw@globalnet.co.uk) as it would give me the appropriate warm fuzzy feeling inside to know I'm actually there! :-O Many thanks, Sam

It does "exactly what it says on the tin", and is just what you'd expect from the rather well-established genre (40 yrs), in terms of stunts, explosions, girls, locations, and the future of the planet peing in peril! In my opinion the plot is a bit too far fetched this time and it's lost much of it's "Britishness", however it's got a lot of references to past Bond films, especially in Q's workshop. It's worth seeing for the opening scene and the car chase on the ice alone. However the title song (Madonna) is terrible! Sam

The IMDB takes a while to get updated, verified and added to their site. So most of the Bond crew are not yet on it - for example the SFX Workshop Supervisor (well, one of them) Nick Finlayson is not on IMDB either yet. So there's still hope! Thanks, S
