Would you pay for a CP Icon?
-
Colin asked Chris earlier about buying CP user icons to keep the site alive. The question is, if Chris offered supporter icons, would you buy one? And how much would you consider paying for one?

I think it is great that people support CP by buying VS.NET, submitting articles etc. Then, these people deserve a CP icon. I think it would be cool to have a CP user icon. But personally, I wouldn't buy one. Visit my website![^]

Can we use blood and body fluids as deposits downpayments. :-) More seriously a site like CP could sell icon rights at auctions. As collectables with transferable rights business model could be organized around them. Folk pay for status, otherwise designer labels would not exist etc. For the right Icon I'd go to a couple of hundred US $$. Stuff like the MS offers are of lttle value to me. As if I really want I could pick up VS.NET as a promo legally. (I'm sure plenty of others can as well) T-shirts would only be of use if I went to a convention. Which I don't do. The main place I integrate with IT folk and coders is here at CP or in NG's. So investing in an Icon makes sense. :-) Regardz Colin J Davies

You are the intrepid one, always willing to leap into the fray! A serious character flaw, I might add, but entertaining. Said by Roger Wright about me.

I'm not sure I could afford to buy one in any case, but I'd go for a tastefully done Bob patch. Or even a lapel pin... "When in danger, fear, or doubt, run in circles, scream and shout!" - Lorelei and Lapis Lazuli Long
