Murdoch need do nothing, Cable has done it all. "I have the nuclear option, I can bring down the government" he said. "Of course there are always going to be problems with the coalition, we do not see eye to eye on many things" "I stopped Murdoch getting the permission" Etc He has now lost authority in cabinet and was only kept on as a sop to the LibDems. Labour will eat him alive.

I am always amazed by the stupid things seemingly every man (and at times I have to include myself in this) will do if a young woman flutters her eyelashes and giggles at him.

But how can you say that? Cable is a god. According to the gospel of St Vince, he saw the financial crisis coming when he was still a foetus. He is a business genius who only works in politics because he's sick of being the highest paid chief executive in the world.

It pains me to say this as a Labour supporter but this current incarnation would struggle to eat the thinnest of political gruel, they're woeful. The most interesting part of the whole afair for me was the fact the Torygraph decided to pull so much of the story. He was booted out of authority to do anything within a day; which makes it one of the shortest wars on record. The shortest example I saw listed on another site was during the colonial period when a local potentate delivered a declaration of war to the British governor just before a man-o-war sailed around the headland. :doh: The white flags went up after only 45 minutes. Downing Street says Mr Cable will keep his job but will be relieved of any role in the BSkyB deal and other such matters in future. These powers will go to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport[^]
