How many of us still visit CodeGuru? I have to admit I still do! Don't hurt me. I still find articles there that are useful and haven't been covered on CodeProject. I remember when CodeGuru was the best thing on the net for MFC programming and then it went all wierd and slow but I still can't help but go back and take a peek - its like putting on old slippers. Can I break this addiction? I dunno*. *But a free CodeProject T-shirt would help the withdrawal symptoms :).

No I don't. 1) CP is more pleasant to visit. Better color scheme if you ask me. 2) Threaded views. Need I say more? 3) I get the feeling that the articles here are of better quality. 4) The article discussion threads very often contain flames. How constructive is that? The only times I hit Codeguru these days is when google leads me there. :) -- If I had the ability to smooth talk like John Simmons, this post would be less sarcastic and more to the point.

I stopped using Codeguru when it was sold to Earthweb, prefering follow people who made the success of Codeguru. Semper Fidelis to the CP spirit :)

I was never that involved with CodeGuru, I don't think I created an account their at all. I downloaded some stuff but that was in the early days. I very rarely go back, unless I need a specific bit of code that I remember seeing there (Coloured Buttons and a ListView stuff). I started my modest learning curve on Codeguru. Now it is almost only CP. But Codeguru does contain good stuff that is not allways found on CP. A few weeks ago I deleted some files on a diskette and immediately came to regret it. I still need those files:wtf::wtf:. So I go looking for an Undelete application. Found a good one on Codeguru, but nothing on CP. Regards, Haakon S.

I used to be a very heavy user of CG, even when Chris was the Admin there (before CP was born). I even made it into the top 10 most helpful people when ratings were available there :-D:-O I still visit now and again, when I need to post a link to an article to help in a question in the VC++ forum here, when I know that there is no corresponding article here. But it happens very infrequently. Like most of the other guys here I started out visting codeguru about 4 years ago ( when it was good ) but I moved over here when Chris started Codeproject up. For me, CodeGuru is good for one thing only - their messageboards. They contain a wealth of information from the last few years of posting and I regularly search their archives when I can't get an answer in the forums here. I never post a question there though - in fact I don't even think I have a valid login there anymore. Cheers James

I actually use this site and CodeGuru regularly. I find that CodeGuru is a much faster site since they don't have all the fancy web stuff going on like this site. However, this site is much more active, so I have to use this one as well. Brigg Thorp Software Engineer Timex Corporation

If you use 2 words, it mainly concentrates on the first one. Google is very good for searching for codeproject articles however. Especially if you put the word codeproject at the end of your search string :-D

I receive their weekly newsletter, but for months there is nothing interesting there. I think CP is starting to become a MS-style monopoly in its area :) My latest article: SQL Server DO's and DONT's[^]
