I don't like the new design of this site

What happened to the Home page where all the categories of articles were shown on the left side of the page? It was easy to find anything I wanted -- but now I can't find anything. I just don't like this new design.

I will usually pop to the lounge first to check what the crack is then access the programming forums from the sidebar there.

There's quite a handy 'Search' feature that lets you find things.

Agreed with you, but search is good here. Use it :) Also, i am 90%+ of time viewing lounge and bookmarked same, so i use left links mostly when needed.
