I know that feeling man. Like when you realize that that hot chick across the room was smiling at her friend behind you.

I'm a good programmer but a "very" good programmer...I am not. I will have to admit something here: for a split second this e-mail made me feel good about myself. Then "instantly" reality set in and told me to wake up and smell the bacon infused coffee. Dave is right about the ego stroking bit.

But is "Nagy" as a customer name going to help while suing? (counting on Nagy to sound like Naggy for this to work)

I received this e-mail this morning at work. I have never been contacted by this group before. I have included the e-mail below for your review. Have any of you seen this group or heard of them or know anything about them? A cursory look at their website shows that they "might" be legit. My gut instinct tells me it's crap. Dear Steve, As you know, you have been considered for inclusion in the upcoming 2010 Edition of the Global Directory of Who's Who for Executives and Professionals, which is scheduled for publication in early 2011. I have had several. Who's Who from every one even a women's who's who which would take a sex change on my part. First, nobody I repeat NOBODY has ever heard of me. Second, I am a entry level programmer at best and a fair DBA but not good enough for who's who. Third, I realy do not think they charge you to be in a real who's who. Although an argument could be made for cost of a copy. Well I best get back to work.

Definitely. There's beer that tastes like smoked ham / bacon[^]. So why not coffee. I don't agree on the Reviewers opinion that it tastes like hickory grilled steak. It's positively tasting like smoked ham, and works brilliantly with a Franconian brunch! (frühshoppen)

Correct sir. I just had some time to research this "company" and they are a scam. Damn it! and I thought I was the greatest programmer the world has ever seen. :( It looks like this company gets people to send in money through their scam and doesn't produce an acceptable end product. Typical. The e-mail has been terminated with extreme prejudice and disgust.

Even if they'd deliver an endproduct; it'd simply be a buy-in for a profile-page on a social network. Now that we're on the subject, how long do you reckon' before Facebook gets such a feature? :)

Have you ever heard of spam/phishing before? Seriously, if you wanted to be included in anything don't you think you would contact them in the first instance, rather than sit by the telephone/mailbox waiting for them?

I must get a clever new signature for 2011.

Here's what my response would be: "Well, just who the f*ck are you? You already have too much information about me if you've somehow gotten hold of my email, so take your global directory and shove it up your anal pore. Oh yeah - get a real job, and you won't have to be associated with sh*t like this in the future. Have a wonderful day."

Mass spam is how they've hoodwinked generations of highschool students parents into forking over $stupid...

Spam/phishing is a very popular sport here in the UK; especially during the annual Monty Python festival.
