I loved that game. I've been keeping my eye on the final release of this: http://www.minerwars.com[^].

I remember playing this back in the day, but could never work out a decent descent controller set up - a joystick with a twist function was the best I managed - but IO was still crap at it.

Bring it on!!!!!! Where have your downloaded from - and does it run on Win 7 OK? If it's not too big I'll download it this weekend, practice like crazy and challenge you next week! :) P.S. Anyone up for a game of HL2 DM just let me know!

Mmm, it's good isn't it? Have you grabbed the free Tyrian 2000 yet? That was a game that ate a few days when I were young. :-D

It really is. Haven't grabbed that one yet, but I do play Raptor from time to time (also from gog). Actually I have over 30 games which I bought from them, but I only got to install around 10, of which I've finished 4.

What amazed me was how well all the games I've bought there actually worked - some of them were a right b@ugger to get working under DOS! Ah! The days when you spent more time with Config.sys trying to get mouse, sound and enough memory to play, than you did playing the game...

Man, that was one incredibly fun game. Joystick though? Isn't that a bit girly?

You need a joystick for decent flight control.

Descent 3[^] It's only $6, and has no DRM. I recommend Descent 3 (they have all three versions - Descent 1 & 2 are also available for $6 in a single download).

Not for me. Mouse and keyboard all the way. Joystick = You need a skirt. It's basic science.

My left hand only has about 90% use as the result of a miter saw accident back in 2004. I can't do keyboard/mouse anymore.

Man that sucks, my sympathies. Does it make it hard cleaning and maintaining your firearms? I tore a big chunk out of the front of one of my fingers on a slide compound mitre a few years back. Stupid me tried to saw a far to small piece of timber. I was quite lucky it healed up okay.
