Apple boggles me. Continually. First, we have the #1 key man taking medical leave and not advising shareholders of the situation. As far as I know, this is a big no-no. Then we have Tim Cook saying Android tablets were just "a scaled-up smartphone, which is a bizarre product in our view". I'm trying to think of what a thin 11" tablet-like device that runs Apple's iPhone operating system is, then. I guess, since iPad can't actually make a phone call, iPads are just "a scaled-up smartphone that isn't even a phone". I guess that really isn't that bizarre, then, right?

Funnily enough, if it were possible to make phone calls with an ipad, I would have seriously considered buying one. I don't see a good reason why you can't just put a SIM card into any laptop/portable computer, and use it to make calls (especially with decent-quality video calls becoming more and more possible), and with tablets, I'd call it a requirement, not just "nice to have". The division between mobile phones and other computers feels artificial and false.

I have an Apple iPhone bought by my company, God I regret choosing it, it's got the battery life of 12 hours :sigh: Apple products - overpriced and overhyped.

We need a smiley of small Android robot here in CP.

have you reduced screen brightness? When I had mine, until I lost it, I reduced screen brightness to minimum and selected the option to adjust brightness depending on how bright the day is; turned wi-fi off unless needed and I think I also turned 3G off-might have left that on. It lasted around a day, maybe more. Then again I spent a few hours some days to customise themes and it was iPhoneV2 not V4. Wifi is a pain to toggle, unless you jailbreak it.

That's just showing the Apple reality distortion field is working.

Yeah, I have thought same, they can have put a slot for sim!! However on another side(it is my consideration only) why they haven't done is due to the battery consumption. Putting a sim will drain its battery on much faster rate. While if it has to serve as phone it would consume lots of battery. This what I have thought the reason my differ. I am also not happy with iPhone not having FM receiver.

If you use Skype you can. We've used an iPad instead of a conference phone a number of times for conference calls.

No, but all the rumours point to the iPad2 having front and rear cameras.
