http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41348118/ns/weather/?GT1=43001[^] PS, in high school I drove a plow truck independently. This storm would probably be 6 figure income in the first 48 hours, if the truck made it.

Wow. Anybody who lives in range of that storm has my deepest sympathies. That's one hell of a storm.

I'm not a stalker, I just know things. Oh by the way, you're out of milk.

I live just south of Chicago (the area with a "Blizzard Watch"). I'll let you know how it comes out... :~

We get 5 flakes of snow in this country and we shut down claiming that there's a snow catastrophe. In America, you get real storms and just battle through it without any real complaint. I've got to admire that about a nation.

From that list, I only really have food. My alcohol situation is not so good. This may sound like enough for a huge party, but I prefer Whiskey and beer: a gallon of habanero infused tequila, a gallon of mint infused rum, half a bottle of Pimm's (yeah, I'm American and drink it), a little vermouth, half a bottle of Grand Marnier, some wine (including a porto) and some bitters. Note: almost all of this is for mixing, and I have no mixers. We'll see how it all mixes with snow I guess. My heat is gas and I have no generator. No fuel except 5 gallons of gasoline and a pile of wood.

I'm in Detroit and they're saying that this could be one of the top 10 worst snow storms in its history. It just has to beat 12.3" to do that. The worst was 24.5" back in 1886. That's over 62cm for you metric nuts. Snowblower? Yep! Gas? Yep! 2 cycle oil? Yep! Large 4 wheel drive truck? HELL YEAH! Stuck? Not a chance! Fun? You have no idea!

If the wind turns out to be what they say it could be, there's be no point in shoveling until the drifting ends.

You are of course correct, I would also agree with the use of could in your sentence. But yeah if we start getting 50+ mph winds, it's going to be brutal. :((

Phew... By the look of the radar map, this one is staying south of the 49th. We've already had our share of big snowfalls and I'm pretty much sick of it at this point. On the flip side of the coin, it looks like there's going to be a lot of babies born 9 months from now...

                            I wasn't, now I am, then I won't be anymore.

Snow squalls coming off a big lake are brutal. I had to "survive" one when I was visiting a friend in Thunder Bay one winter years ago. I never want to see one of those again.

                              I wasn't, now I am, then I won't be anymore.

Condoms, that's what I need in addition to booze. I'm off to go provision myself, pretty sure generators will be sold out as usual.
