"It is a remarkable fact that despite the worldwide expenditure of perhaps US$50 billion since 1990, and the efforts of tens of thousands of scientists worldwide, no human climate signal has yet been detected that is distinct from natural variation." Just remember... The stock market is a giant psychological experiment that sometimes corresponds to real-world economics. It can turn on you faster than... than... than a bad analogy... Sorry, it's been a bad morning so far... My comedy subroutines are fried.

Proud to have finally moved to the A-Ark. Which one are you in?

In the past, when the West had a relatively stable financial system (i.e. gold-backed) stocks consistently proved to be the better investment except during market downturns like the Great Depression. Beginning around 2000, that was no longer true. In 2005 an ounce of gold sold for $500 and a share of Google sold for $400. Today Google is at $600. Gold is at $1330. In the very short term, stocks may run up a bit faster than gold, or gold may even drop a bit. However, I see no signs that the US or the EU can come to grips with the underlying flaws in a Keynesian economic model, nor the political will to even try to do so. Sooner or later the Euro is going to crash and the US credit rating will be lowered. That is when it'll start raining stockbrokers again.

“The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.” ~ H.L. Mencken

Cyclohexane is as stable as a lemming on LSD. It doesn't burn, it explodes.

I am not talking about a long term move, just whats going to happen over the next few years.

As Black Adder used to say, when devoid of a good analogy, "it can turn quicker than a quickky turny thing"
