I don't care how much technology I have at my disposal, post-it notes rock. I have more f'n post-it notes on my desk, monitor, workstation, wall, then I can count. If I don't write it down immediately then I will forget it in 2 minutes. What was that? You wanted me to put the updates in last night? Are client is furious and is calling me a dumb ass programmer? I just don't have the time to use "to-do" type software and all that crap...I would love to use that kind of software but pen and paper rocks in so many ways. Thanks for listening. :-D
_todo.txt works for me (underscore so it's always first in the map/VS folder).

I use the spiral-bound steno pads because a steno pad is easier to find than a post-it that fell off the moniotr. Many times, though, a post-it not is stuck to one or more pages of it.

I use the spiral-bound steno pads because a steno pad is easier to find than a post-it that fell off the moniotr. Many times, though, a post-it not is stuck to one or more pages of it.

My memory is not very good either. I have two sticky notes on the both sides of my monitor, one reads “breathe in” and the other “breathe out”. I used to use a walkman in the past with the recorded breathing instructions on it but since I ended up in the ER because of a battery failure I prefer the notes.

I keep all my notes on my phone in a single document with headers for each date that I make any entries for. That way, I have my notes with me wherever I go. I have various markers that keep track of the status - "+" beside an item means "done", "!" next to an item means I need more info / a followup before I can complete it, etc. My phone has a really good physical keyboard (which is why I got it) so I can type at 35-40 wpm easily - if I had to do it with a virtual keyboard I'd just give up on using my phone for it.

I can't find any paper notes anymore. All I use for notes is OneNote. Works great for me.

At the moment I have an HTC Touch Pro 2[^]. It has the best keyboard I have ever tried on any phone - makes the Droid's look terrible in comparison. It runs Windows Mobile though, which is basically an OS on its way out the door. I would like to upgrade to an Android phone, but I have yet to see a single phone running the platform that has a 5-row physical keyboard - which astounds me. The HTC 7 Pro[^] looks like the TP2's successor, only it runs WP7, which is still missing some key features that I need (3rd-party multitasking, C&P (which is coming soon), user-swappable SD cards, etc).

My missus bought our 5 year old a couple of pads of post-it notes a month or two back. Whole bloody house is plastered in them now. I've woken up with new ones stuck to me before now.

I do the same thing. About once a month I scoop all the loose post-its into a file folder, mark the date on it, and file it. It's a crude archiving system, but it works well for me.

We have a cabinet at work that is stuffed full of brand new ones. They're also available in the employee store. :)

I do the same thing, but I don't like post-its. I use a small note pad, I think is less messy, fits drawings when I need and I just scratch what I don't need to remember anymore.
