Google lifts wraps on Honeycomb Tablet OS[^] At a gathering at the company’s Silicon Valley headquarters, Google (GOOG 612.10, +0.10, +0.02%) said the new platform will support features such as video chat and multitasking. The company also announced that the Android Marketplace — which allows users to buy and download apps for devices such as tablets and smartphones — will support in-app purchases as well as the ability to buy apps over a regular Web browser. Google, however, did not give a final ship date for Honeycomb. Product-management director Hugo Barra said the platform is “not quite ready” for shipment, but had no further details Marc
