I love the feeling. You end up talking like a complete invalid. Go out and get a coffee or something, see how many people think you're "special"...

            Say this ten times fast:

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.
A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked.
If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,
How many pickled peppers did Peter Piper pick?

Once you give up on that, give this a try too:

She sells seashells by the seashore.
The shells she sells are surely seashells.
So if she sells shells on the seashore,
I'm sure she sells seashore shells.

I had a friend back in high school who didn't get this concept too well. Figured he would test to see how far he could go before he actually felt anything. Ended up taking a pair of pliers and nearly ripping his lip off. Next day at school he looked like he had introduced himself to a bus, face first.

I've never seen good dental insurance (though I've only ever been signed up through an employer or school). The max they cover each year is always very low. When my tooth was shattered and I had to get an implant, the total was around $4,500, $3,000 of which I had to pay myself.

Also most things are not fully covered (like a root canal, or pulling a tooth, teeth xrays etc.). So it's never just co-pay, it's always an extra 200-800 out of your pocket! :|

Very good. Now walk into a bank to get some cash. Make sure there is a security guard nearby. While you're in line, right before it's your turn to see a teller, start practicing "she sells seashells" again.

$1000-2000 per year for a family is very low and on top of that, they pay only 50-80% of the charge. Few of the extractions and RC are also limited to one a year.

I'm with you man. I so hate going to the dentist. That's why I don't go. In the last 40 years, I think I've sat in a dentist chair twice. And yes, I still have all my teeth and yes they still all work amazingly well. :)

I've never seen good dental insurance (though I've only ever been signed up through an employer or school). The max they cover each year is always very low. When my tooth was shattered and I had to get an implant, the total was around $4,500, $3,000 of which I had to pay myself.

You noticed that, too? Total of premiums: $1570 Max payout : $1500  Yeah, yeah. It still works out better than paying cash...the dentist "negotiates" with the insurance company so the fees charged are actually less than you'd get, even asking nicely.

..and water fell from the sky like rain.
