I answered a question this morning about faxing. I provided the guy with TWO search strings that came back with more than half a million results (combined), and he STILL didn't want to use google.

I notice that there are a lot of similar questions on this (Q & A) and other sites that a simple search would turn up an answer or at least a direction. One site I frequent seems to have the same five questions (restated) over and over. Granted Google will give you junk for the first several answers but come on, am I expecting too much from people? Do not get me started on Google not giving you the answer right away. I search for a company name and even though the name is in the URL Google puts it on page two...

You must be new here :)

Need custom software developed? I do custom programming based primarily on MS tools with an emphasis on C# development and consulting. I also do Android Programming as I find it a refreshing break from the MS. "And they, since they Were not the one dead, turned to their affairs" -- Robert Frost

Many folk not only do not want to do their own searches, they do not want to write their own code. Just providing a link to an explanation of how something is done does not make them happy. They want finished code that does exactly what they want and they want it fast. Indeed, I have noticed a direct correlation between how urgentz a questions is and the lack of willingness to do their own work. :sigh:

Just because the code works, it doesn't mean that it is good code.

Careful now. CSS gets univoted for mouth breathing; you don't want to imply a common factor between the two of you.

No... no one searches anymore... Sucks, but it is true... and yeah, I get your comments on Google too. They are really starting to get my goat lately. Just pulling up a list of results is not only forcing the actual site URL down to a latter page but you also get that freaking picture of the site now when you hover over a link. Its really starting to get annoying. I also need to understand why I need to keep trying to kill the GoogleToolbarNotifier and the other things that it wants to have running in the background all the time. Why can't I just use their freaking toolbar when I want to and then when I go to their site have them tell me THEN that I have an older version and may want to upgrade. Man...

Well, what do you expect... they are, of course, busy getting first page results for "hiybbprqag" and similar phrases
