Thanks for the tip... I'll have to add South Dakota to a distinguished list of states, among them Kansas and Texas... A list of states I will never even consider moving to, when I inevitably get sick of NYC :)

Proud to have finally moved to the A-Ark. Which one are you in?

So you're afraid of a law abiding, responsible gun owner? Only crooks should fear him. I would love JSOP as a neighbor.

Might as well just move to Canada now, with global warming the way it is, it should be pretty much tropical before the end of the decade. Might as well move in while the houses are cheap!!

Well, for the former, there are certain... how do I put this... mental functions that some parts (Not all, I'm sure) of Kansas clearly lack[^]. Sure, they reversed that bit of idiocy (after TWO YEARS of damaging their students), but I just can't trust a state like that anymore... As for Texas... Well, nothing against JSOP or his kin, but as far as I'm concerned, that entire state has been irreversibly contaminated[^]... I'm staying as far away as possible :)

Oh you can't convict the entire state for one giant moron. They brought us things like Tex-Mex food, Sandra Bullock, and Bobby Flay's wife from Law and Order. ;P Besides the population trends in Texas will have minorities the majority in the next 20 years.

[^] The population of SD is only 800,000. I just checked, there are only 2 planned parenthood clinics in the state. The state motto is "Under God, the People Rule." For a state with a site called Thunder Butte, I thought they'd be much cooler.

How hypocritical!!! I am against abortion (except in a few rare cases). The taking of life for any reason other than self-defense (or the defense of another's life) is simply wrong. I don't think it reasonable to consider or make it legal the killing of abortion providers. Two wrongs don't make a right. You can stop the doctor from performing the abortion without killing said doctor.

And of those four, remember which one I live in? :) Yes, I have a very warped perspective on city size... But it's fun.

You need to visit a couple other cities then. Montreal, Vancouver are both awesome, with Calgary coming in close behind only because the weather is quirky in Calgary.

                                  I wasn't, now I am, then I won't be anymore.

Lyndon B. Johnson, you know, the Democrat, was also Texan. Don't forget, the South was once "Solidly Democratic" as they put it, until about the 70's

Please share with us his magnitude of influence, that didn't arise from other or previous members of his party or cabinet. Liberals love using him as a scapegoat, though, but somehow won't turn against Obama for being a lame duck Democrat from the start. I would give credit to Bush for upsetting liberals so much, that they are willing to put up with an ineffective president. His only liberal accomplishment so far is healthcare, which likely won't last. I disapproved of Bush largely for growing the federal government (creating the DHS), which is against typical Republican fiscal/control policy.

I believe that's exactly the point.

[^] The population of SD is only 800,000. I just checked, there are only 2 planned parenthood clinics in the state. The state motto is "Under God, the People Rule." For a state with a site called Thunder Butte, I thought they'd be much cooler.
