I'm surprised CP doesn't have a code that looks for duplicate title posts or similarities within them.

Again, to what purpose? How could CP knowing there are posts with the same/similar title affect their ranking. If similarities affect the ranking then it is the fact that they are there or not that has the effect, not CP knowing about it.
