Westboro Church Vs Anonymous
-
According to this[^] is looks like the "hacker" group anonymous has taken down the Westboro Baptist Church's website, as it said it would. According to the article Anonymous are self-professed “aggressive proponents for the freedom of speech and freedom of information.” It is therefore ironic that they have interfered with the freedom of speech of a bunch of bigoted hate-mongering zealots. The domain "Godhatesfag.com" (westboro's site) currently redirects to http://www.gaychat.com/?AFNO=1-1, 10/10 for that nice touch however.

Regional terminology can be a problem. I used to share a house at uni with someone from East London who kept asking if he could 'ponce a fag off you'. I used to say no bloody chance. Tabs of course can also be cigarettes, or more often ears, but also LSD. The biggest problem traveling around the country is posed by the humble bread roll, or cob, or bap, barm, batch, bun, or even a muffin.
Every man can tell how many goats or sheep he possesses, but not how many friends.

Author of the Guardians Saga (Sci-Fi/Fantasy novels)Do they have a single entity that can speak for the actions of all members? If someone claims to be the spokesman, should the press believe them? These are actual questions, not rhetoric. [fixed some bad English, I blame the cold medicine]

No way to know, really. But on the same note, can you claim that the organization itself was responsible for the actions of a few members (If it even WAS members of Anonymous that did it)? The press release itself may or may not have been authentic, for that matter... If you look at the comments on that press release, they seem pretty divided between whether or not it's a good idea, so can you really claim that "Anonymous" was behind it? Personally, I think it's equally (or more) likely that WBC arranged it themselves for the publicity. Nothing helps a cause like a mortal enemy.

Author of the Guardians Saga (Sci-Fi/Fantasy novels)Bingo. I love when the press try to get interviews with their "leaders" or "key figures." The concept of doing that is pretty absurd.
