Lets see if it supports html 5 and css properly, before we pass judgment. :-D

There are no browsers that fully support HTML5 and CSS. Some say they do and when you ask them 'Why dose ??? not work?', they then say they haven't added that function yet!. IE9 dose support most HTML5 and CSS. More than most other browsers. I like the CSS code that can display a video with rounded corners etc. Haven't found any other browser (excluding IE clones) that can do this. So to the question, dose it support HTML5 and CSS the answer is~: Yes just about as good as any other browser.

IE9 seemed fast on first using it. Now seems to have slowed to a crawl. Several sites requiring a log-in no longer work, so have to use other browser. A link from an email in windows Mail, say, only opens IE9 browser - the actual page does not load. You have to go back and click the link again. Don't like the favourites opening on the right hand side - they get hidden, as all components by others open there to avoid the old IE versions opening on the left. No sign that MS developers ever actually use their browsers or they would make them more user friendly and reduce constant clicking off of pointless warnings I do not need. Very tiresome. Overall a 5/10.

The sites it dosen't work on may have only been tested with a Mozilla engine and not with a Trident engine. I expect your other browser is using Mozilla. Please list some of the sites, so we cal look at the web page code.

A typical site which has IE9 log-in problems is: http://community.betfair.com/[^] The entered username or password disappears as soon as you enter the other. I use Roboform to log in. It works best with the Gecko engine in Lunascape browser.

HTML5 is a draft standard that won't be completed until 2014 so, to me, HTML5 is non-sequitur until that time. Not that I'm a web developer or even really care, but that's my understanding of the situation! ;-) -Max

Every time I go back to IE I end up running right back to firefox... IE seems to always lag years behind firefox in features and functionality!

I would say the same about Chrome. I keep going back to it - it's just solid and SIMPLE. -Max :D

I don't like it, at least for now. Most annoying is the address bar... typing a URL behaves really oddly for me. The text seems to scroll off the left side of the box hiding what I'm typing, even though there's plenty of space on the right hand side. Eventually, after I type enough characters it works properly again. I haven't noticed it being any faster. New tab/button layout is confusing me, but presume I will get used to it over time. Refresh/stop/s button seems harder to hit with the mouse (although mostly I use F5 anyway). Don't like the new visual appearance of the back/forward buttons either. Extra vertical screen space is nice though. Does work better with the MSDN forums though. Favourites window appearing on the right is cool too.

I love it. I still use Firefox and Chrome but it depends on what I am doing; I use all three pretty regular. What I would like to see in IE9--and how I have it set in Chrome--is to have the favorite bar hidden until I "open a new tab" where the favorites bar would then show itself so I could choose a favorite and the bar would again hide itself. And what about a keyboard shorcut to toggle the favorites bar? So far, I haven't found one. Also, the Tracking Protection is an improvement but in both FF and Chrome I have "AdBlock Plus" where I can actually click to choose an advertisement to block. The addons for Firefox and Chrome are far superior to IEs addons. I'd like to add that IE is still the default browser I use.
