ROTFL, in fact, I do. But, the point is, as I showed with my link, Nish told us that's where they should go, and that you guys would find them funny. Several found the '7 ate 9' joke funny below, thus proving his point. I pretended to laugh the first time my son told it, and still pretend to laugh now. Quite simply, what are we to do when an Indian tells a lame joke ? Should we just abuse them, is that what you'd prefer ? Isn't that what the Indian forum was created for, to help stop people bashing clueless Indians who post things that Westerns find stupid, on the basis that they think they will win them friends ?

Ignore it. It then dies as a post to which no-one has responded; a clear message.

I read it that the dad was the postie delivering the mail, so rather than going the 5 miles to deliver it, he should have just posted it... (but since he is the postie delivering the mail... you get it now, right?)

Curious how practically every Indian who's replied on this thread says this joke is lame and has no place anywhere on CP, while there's a clamour from white people Westerners to stuff these jokes in the GIT :suss: Yeah, yeah, you support an Indian child through World Vision, blah blah blah, so it's alright.

That's because the ones who can't tell a joke are still over in the GIT forum. :-D But, in truth, a lack of a sense of humor crosses all boundaries. It just seems to be worse when there's a language barrier to overcome, as well.

Christian, Just like you, Rajesh is a cool guy :). So is Vikram! All might know this. And we all agree, the way our other new-to-cp mates post here, is truly rubbish. It takes time for them to know what it means to be in Lounge. They'll soon adapt. Still I dont feel like defending them when they post something like this. But when you generalize as "Indians" it's a bit pricking. And when you divide West/Middle east/ East, it's much more pricking. So it's natural guys start defending self. The best thing you could do is to ignore. Next best thing when you cannot, is to attack without mentioning their origin. So that the entire herd is not disturbed. And we can attack the rookie in harmony. :-O

OK, but the division I made, is the one this site makes. So, imagine my confusion.

What am I doing when an English man blabbers after getting drunk, or an Australian posts about how his life totally sucks with every possible software he would install, how every flight he takes barely escapes a catastrophe, how the telephone company rips him off his money and tells him to get stuffed, or how his life is sieged by misfortune in general? What am I doing when an American or European posts about politics, or a Belgian posts about GW? If it's inappropriate, I mark it as so. If that amuses me, I respond. I ignore it otherwise.

You're talking about your judgement on individuals. We're talking about something that an entire cross section of the community does. And you're holding to your position despite the admin of the GIT forum advising that it be used in the way that I suggested.

What about the various indian members who, when ignored, have posted joke after joke to this forum ?

You put it better than I could ever have. I won't be surprised if he goes off on another tangent... or leaves this discussion entirely, only to make another such comment a few weeks later. Btw, fat_boy is English, he just lives in Belgium.

I am speechless. I give up. It's clear that anything I do, is going to be attacked. Even though I was doing the same thing Nish does, and I even provided links to prove it. It's OK, I am Australian, I am used to minority groups using cries of racism to create a double standard to their own benefit.

  (or should I say ROTFL) That's one of the the funniest thing I've read on this site. This is the internet, man. What "benefits" do you think someone can get here?! Will CP send me my cheque, or should I expect an electronic funds transfer because I 'cried' about racism? On the other hand, I'm used to see people come up with pointless arguments like this. We are not going to accept each others view, so I also think that I would drop this discussion here.

If nobody '1'ed them or replied, they would merely be one line in the forum. Even Ilion and CSS faded away, and they were fed with every post.
