I forgot to mention the techs used. Currently i am working in asp.net 2.0 and i think these clients are never willing to upgrade there projects in 4.0 version. :(

Think of it this way - at least its not Cobol. If you do really want to work on the latest stuff, why dont you just find another job?

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

The PM expects the work to be completed within the estimated time. Most of the time these estimates are wrong since the estimate provider also not worked on that project from a long time.

      That's really terrible man.

At least its not VBScript in classic ASP calling into a FoxPro database on a file share via a 3rd party encryption tool (where said 3rd party has gone out of business and so is not there to provide support) that's hosted on a server hosted at a remote location where the network guys manage in any one week to either change the server name, its IP address or yank the power coord out without shutting down and then delegate the HD corruption repair work back to the developers. I needed a good rant lol

That much I still have to support. Along with everything in between that and 4.0 projects.

            I wasn't, now I am, then I won't be anymore.

If it is any consolation, many years ago I worked for a company who gave me six projects at once. All in Assembler, all on floppy disks - no HDDs in those days: pre PC! So the procedure was: Arrive in the morning, get master disks for Project A out of fire safe on ground floor, go upstairs three flights to desk. Start looking at Project A,trying to work out what I am supposed to do. Within the hour, my boss would turn up, like a bad smell, right behind me. "What are you doing?" "Project A" "Stop that! Do Project B!" Pack up Project A, trying to make notes on what I'd worked out so far. Take it back to the fire safe, get Project B. Start looking at Project B,trying to work out what I am supposed to do. Within the hour, my boss would turn up, like a bad smell, right behind me. "What are you doing?" "Project B" "Stop that! Do Project C!" Pack up Project B, trying to make notes on what I'd worked out so far. Take it back to the fire safe, get Project C. You get the general idea? This would continue every hour until I went home. Needless to say, I left.

Why can't you estimate the task which you will be working.

Obviously if you are maintaining older projects, they would be in asp.net 2.0.

I would seriously take a leap from that. Looks like you will have a hard time learning anything meaningful out of it. If you have the choice (I mean there are no any other issues that prevent you from immediately leaving your job), then you should switch immediately.
