As a total newcomer to the world of smartphones I have to ask whether hardware QWERTY keyboard on "7 Pro" is worth scarifying slightly larger screen and slightly more RAM on "HD7"?

I'm not familar with either of these phones but I was looking at the LG Quantum because it had a slide-out keyboard. I then noticed that the on-screen keyboard was nearly identical in size. Unless you are a heavy music/video/photo person, RAM is not all that significant. Good luck.

I haven't used the Pro but I do love my HD7. The virtual keybaord is adequate for my needs for occasional texts, short emails, web address typing and short note taking.

Fully depends on whether you want a hardware keyboard or not; If yes then definately slightly more RAM and larger screen should be "scarified".

Well that's the question. I haven't used hardware one and 'virtual' one only on a few occasions. And there's another problem - there's no "7 pro" around here to try, I have to order it without actuallty seeing one. So, yes. I would like HW KBD if it'll make my typing easier (though I won't be a heavy user), but don't know if it is a case. So I'm asking experianced smartphone users to share their thoughts.

Hm, I'm more interesting in gaming then those things.

Hardware keyboard will make typing much more easier, but if you are not a heavy fan of texting you can live without that.

The soft keyboard om Windows Phone 7 is excellent. Give it a try on a demo phone and you might find that a physical keyboard is not necessary (I did). Currently, landscape support in WP7 is missing in some contexts, so you will still have to resort to the virtual keyboard. Also, take into consideration the significant weight of 7 Pro (~180 grams). This comes from a happy LG Optimus 7 owner.
