At 1820, FIL gently passed away. No pain or drama. I held him with Mrs Wife and now he is with God.

Deepest sympathy to yourself, Mrs Wife, the Ickles, MIL et al.:rose::rose: At least it seems to have been easy on him, if that's possible.

Damn. Mate. I am probably being arrogant here, but I think everyone here was hoping that there'd be one last miracle and he'd pull through. You have my deepest sympathies, and our thoughts are with you and your wife.

He waited for us to get home. The nurse said "I think he's ready" and five minutes later she called US to his bed side. We held him and told him not to worry. There seemed to be a tear in his eye, then the breathing became shallow and stopped. After he went the girls came in and said goodbye. We are, in a way, glad he's gone. The last month has been just pain and it is a relief for him to be released. I know what you mean about a miracle. Until the WE we thought maybe.
