    1. Column hidden. 2. Column outside of monitor display side. 3. Column under an always-on-top app. 4. User has one eye closed, thereby not being able too see outside of narrow peripheral vision. 5. User is an idiot. 6. User IS an idiot.

bingo! Actually, I think you were all right. The column was not visible because they forgot they moved the columns to the right using the scroll bar. It has come to my attention that they did this on quite a few records, which you would think they would have noticed but alas they did not. To top it off, the manager on the floor didn't catch the problem (or didn't even look).

They inadvertently clicked the first column, thus resizing it to the width of the control, and hiding the 2nd column as a result... Either that, or they have a piece of paper over the right side of the classes, obstructing their complete vieww of an otherwise normal screen... Or maybe they came back from lunch after utilizing one or more recreational drugs they found buried in their kid's sock drawer...

Did you do a search on the internet? :-D

No. However, I posted a question about in Q/A and also mentioned it in Bugs & Sugs. :)

that one of my applications is not working properly and one of the columns is not showing up in one of the datagrid controls. I find out that this is only happening to one person on the floor out of about 30 users. --This is the only info that I am presented with for this problem. Note: This is a small in-house app with a SQL Server Express backend and a Access 2007 front end. It is a very simple app. Off the top of your head, with out further investigation, what do you think is causing the one column not to be visible to this one user? Remember, this user has made a very big deal with this bug/error report and management is hounding me for answers. :)

Crack, lots and lots of crack smoking. Apparently it is mandatory for users to do before starting up any of my apps.

They seldom solve themselves. Most often they are just hiding, and will reappear at an even less appropriate time. :)

Everything depends on the amount of soap and water you have, the size of the windows and if you can open them and of course it will mostly depend on the height of the building and the floor # you are working... Sometimes a small push to "help" the users is needed...

Option 1: Leave the user's body floating face-down in a culvert somewhere. Option 1, modified: Leave the user's body floating face-down, dressed only in a pink tu-tu, in a culvert somewhere. Option 2: Leave the user's head mounted on a pike outside their cube as a warning to others. Option 2 is my usual approach.

Option 2 is my usual approach.

that one of my applications is not working properly and one of the columns is not showing up in one of the datagrid controls. :)

So it was an ID-Ten-T (id10t) problem. Too common. :)

I like that. I will add a flag field to the database and name it this. That way I can keep track. :-D
