We have a Win2K Pro laptop which has a file of size 1.99Mb is size. It is not an OS protected file, but when attempting to delete it the OS advises that it is already open. This even happens after a reboot. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what we can do to get rid of this damn file. Andy

Maybe this is system file? If this file located on NOT-system drive just start chkdsk from console with "Force dismount" option (/X). After check try to kill it.

Hope this helps . It may be that this is a service file that is being used. In which case you can stop the service then delete the file . Chris :-D
