So, aparently people with Norman surnames are richer than those with Saxon ones: People with "Norman" surnames like Darcy and Mandeville are still wealthier than the general population 1,000 years after their descendants conquered Britain, according to a study into social progress. [^] Since 4/5ths of the UK is still owned by the descendents of those Norman invaders its not surprising. Perhaps its time for a Saxon rebellion, claiming back what was once ours! :) Or perhaps we should just invade France by stealth, buying it up, house by house: Dordogne: The English take over [^]

Lindzen, Atmospheric Physicist, IPCC "It does not matter who you are, or how smart you are, or what title you have, or how many of you here are, and certainly not how many papers your side has published, if your prediction is wrong then your hypothesis is wrong. Period." Professor Richard Feynman

Apparently you Saxons have forgotten is that what is yours to reclaim is in Germany. Britain belongs to the Britons!!! (Now the Welsh, Cornish and Bretons)

Where there's sacrifice, there's someone collecting the sacrificial offerings. Where there's service, there is someone being served. The man who speaks to you of sacrifice is speaking of slaves and masters, and intends to be the master. ~ Ayn Rand

"Since 4/5ths of the UK is still owned by the descendents of those Norman invaders" Where did you hear that? That sounds way too much. Not that I disagree with pointing out the problems still troubling this country from that most brutal and merciless of conquests. It causes me great distress to think about it. The Normans have a great deal to answer for. The crusaders were also mostly Norman, just look at the problems we still have over there because of their brutality.

I heard it on the TV some time back, of ocurse it could be bollocks, but I have no reason to suppose so.
