Just ignore it... According to the odd-even rule, Windows 8 will be a bloated, unstable piece of garbage... Windows 9 might be good.

Star Trek Odd/Even Rule was broken with Nemesis.

Yeah, Nemesis was supposed to be good, and it was mediocre... The reboot was supposed to be horrible, but it was actually really good. So I think Nemesis reversed the polarity by rerouting phaser control through the main deflector, or sending a tachyon pulse through-- LeVar Burton is so much better at this...

No, Wen comes after Wine, which is a good way to lose Weight.

Wait, using MS's consistent naming scheme, shouldn't the next version be named one of the following? Windows 8.5 Windows 2013 Windows TNG 3.11 Windows YOU Windows NT 7.0 Windows Vista 3 In other words, ANYTHING but "Windows 8."

He said, "Boy I'm just old and lonely, But thank you for your concern, Here's wishing you a Happy New Year." I wished him one back in return.

Did I miss something, I thought Vista was version 6 and the one after was 6.1 (often referred to as 7). I haven't figured out their(MS) rounding rules. AFAIK 0.4 rounds down, and 0.5 rounds up. /me being slightly confused.

Wow - what a pointless article regurgitating mindless nothings, ending on a highlight of "let's make fun of Vista". In other words, they don't actually know anything, but just wanted a headline that had Windows 8 in it.

You got it - of course there's going to be a Windows 8 (under same name). What we have here is an example of the "We were first" syndrome.

Going by the fact that the chinese are obsessed with the number 8, i think there will be massive uptake by them. Ok, they might all be pirated copies, but they will jump at the chance to install it.

Thanks. Fact is, I sorta like Windows - prolly due to familiarity. I've been playing with a Mac lately and have been struggling. Some things are nice, others are infuriating (for me). I mean, come on, no delete key? I'm having trouble getting over that one.

So do I. But I have trouble with the MS attitude, which seems to be "We got your money, now sod off". I just wish they would listen to the people who use it, and who develop for it rather than the people who say "lets make it look flashier" and concentrate on fixing problems rather than developing new ones for a change. Unfortunately, there seems to be a group for whom MS can do no wrong, and any criticism seems to get met with anonymous down votes rather than discussion. Bit like the Apple fanboise in that way.

Yeah - only problem is that seems to be contagious. And when Apple gets your money, they get a lot more for something that is only arguably better. Sure, Apple stuff is pretty slick, but overpriced - because they can.
