RC Willey's Retarded Account Creation

Came across another site (rcwilley.com) that sends me my password plain text in an email. Worse than that, I can't seem to log into my account (says the account doesn't exist). And the email they sent that was supposed to contain the link to verify my account contained no such link:

That's it, no verification link. So I guess I can't activate my account. Also strange is that, when I click "My Account", I am sent to https://www.rcwilley.com/ViewAccountLogin.jsp. It seems the only way to create an account there is to click "Forgot Password?", enter your email address, and when the lookup fails it gives you the option to create an account (I actually created my account using a more roundabout way). It was not at all clear if I could order things online, and the account creation process is so retarded that I won't be trying anymore. I'm guessing I can blame Mike Woodward for the terrible design (the email I got was from mike.woodward@rcwilley.com and Mike is the Web Project Manager). Maybe Mike needs to be told his site sucks, as apparently he thinks it has a "user-friendly and functional interface" and that "customers and associates find it to be a useful tool". WTF, Mike, WTF. EDIT: It seems you can order things online (I was in the carpet section... still not sure if I can order that online). And this page has an option for new customers to create an account: https://www.rcwilley.com/ViewCartAccountLogin.jsp. Seems they just plum forgot to add that to their "My Account" page. :doh:

I haven't looked at the site, but why would you go to the My Account page to create an account? (ubnless you're from Microsoft and think the logical thing to do to turn off your computer is click Start :)

Because that's good design for web retail. And there's no "Create Account" link by the "My Account" link.

When I registered for my new ISP, their wonderful web form wouldn't let me create an account without a "tussenvoegsel" (the germanic "de", "van", etc, between forename and surname) in my name. I was Soooo tempted to register as Mark van Engeland! I tried to register in my wife's name (three Chinese characters -- one for each field), but it wouldn't let me do that, either, so I just ended up banging a "de" in my own name. The kicker is that they gave me an e-mail address with that username. I don't think I'll be using it much.

and there is also note at the time of Login in My Account Page *NOTE: If you are logging in to your RC Willey CREDIT account for the first time, please use your account number with the password of the last four digits of your social security number.
