I am currently in country side and yesterday I left my notebook on the floor and ants seems to have found new home in it. There are lots of tiny red ants coming out of keyboard every now and then and I can see them through the spaces between keys. Any solution to get rid of them ? I command them to get out of my notebook but they are very tough and didn't listen to the command. :)

Just browse to here[^] and leave it to do it's thing for a few hours...

Pour gasoline on the notebook and light it on fire, that should get rid of the ants. Any other problems?

What crappy solution is that? It should read 1. pour gasoline on it 2. light it on fire 3. Any other problems? --> goto 1 Code reuse, bro, code reuse.

Open up the notebook and place it in a containter. Then close the container and light a cigarette and blow the smoke into the container. Eventually the smoke should kill them off. :)

Suspend the machine 5mm above the surface of the planet. Place a volatile sweet liquid nearby. The ants will leave the notebook in search of the nectar, and will fall, crashing to earth. They will then be unable to return to the notebook! Simple engineering problem. (Unless ants learn to build scaffold towers or pater noster lifts!)

You seem to have taken performance profiling to the extreme, most people just buy the software ANTS Performance Profiler[^] they don't actually employ ants

True, but going to hell here would be much help. Then he'd lose the laptop for good!

Try... Compressed Air Can, Vacuum, Air Blower, or put your laptop in Sunlight for few hours (lid open)... dont try to type on it until you get rid of ants, otherwise you will kill them with the key stroke and then it will be difficult to clean up the sticky key... :)

I remember somebody asking the same question here in the lounge some years ago. My answer back then was (and still is): Put the notebook in a plastic bag, put in CO2 and seal it airtight. Leave your notebook in the bag overnight, that should kill the little buggers for sure and doesn't harm your computer at all (CO2 is used to kill fire near computers or other sensitive machines, where water can't be used cause it would harm the circuits - believe an old volunteer firefighter).

Open up the notebook and place it in a containter. Then close the container and light a cigarette and blow the smoke into the container. Eventually the smoke should kill them off. :)

Or place a candle into the container to burn up all of the oxygen and seal it off. That will teach them.
