Airco recommendations

It's over 20 degrees C here again, which is completely unbearable. :-D At least at night.. So I need an airco. It's quite dry here in summer, so it doesn't need to demoisturize, and actually it's ok if it moisturizes (but not so much that water will be dripping from the walls..) I would prefer not to have to drill any big holes in walls and it's only needed a couple of months per year, so I was thinking about one of those portable water-evaporators (so it can rid in the attic most of the year), but are they actually any good?

IMO evaporators and monoblocks are no good. What works well is a split group, with the outside condensor sufficiently large. And then it works best if the condensor is shielded from direct sun light, and the ducts are kept short (up to a few meters). See it as an investment, that is if you own your place. If a real airco isn't your choice, I would suggest you consider an infrared blocking window film, which takes no maintenance and doesn't make any noise... Bijvoorbeeld[^] :)

What? That's only 68F. I have to agree with Roger, that's what we keep our heat set to right now.

Yeah, WTF. I have my heat set to 75F during the day and 70F at night (when I am under a comforter).

Costco has portable indoor air conditioners which need not permanent installation and can be rolled around on wheels. Edit: Oops, I thought you were in the US. My bad. But I guess you will get portable AC's there too?
