The State Legisature just passed a law saying that employers can no longer prohibit employees from storing weapons in their cars in company parking lots. There are some exceptions, such as public school employees, or petro-chemeical employees that don't have a CHL (which violates another law stating that a car is considered to be an extension of the home). Of course this doesn't extend to federal civilial employees that work on military bases either, which does directly affect me. Now, if they'd just allow constitutional carry, I'd be a lot happier.

There are so many idiotic gun laws that contradict each other. It's best to just focus on the C part of CHL. If nobody knows a gun is there, they'll have nothing to get worked up over.

Funny bit of Oregon gun law: People with CHL can carry into any public property outside of courthouses and I think post offices. This includes schools. School employees are denied the option to carry by their employment contract, but legally there's nothing stopping the parents. Upon sharing this nugget of information our CHL instructor made sure to point out that there is a difference between what is legal and what is smart.

They'll just get fired for it instead. Texas is a right to work state after all.
