"BTW, did you notice how President Bush pronounces Saddam "SADdam" rather than "SadDAM"? The latter Arabic translation is roughly "engage bravely" while the former translates "shoeless beggar." I found this on WS's Opinion Journal -- since Saddam's the issue of today -- you decide which he is! ;P _"No one goes to hell because of their sin, but because of rejecting God's method of salvation: His Son's life for yours..."

SADdam was called SADdam by Bush the elder as well. If I am not mistaken, at the same time SADdam referred to President Bush as Bosc or Bosh (or some such), which had an equally demeaning meaning in Arabic. Mike

Holy crap! We've got these guys taking us to the brink of war and beyond and they're sniggering to their mates in the back room because they're calling each other silly names on TV by deliberately mis-pronouncing them. I might start looking for a nice, secluded cave somewhere... :((

Bush can rarely pronounce 2 syllable American names correctly. You guys are letting your imaginations run away with you... This thread is the most rediculous bunch of crap speculation I've seen on CP yet. Get real!:|:|
