I am interested in developing an iphone app which can record dreams and people can watch it as a movie once got up ? It's a ongoing research and results are so far so good. "Now Yukiyasu Kamitani at ATR Computational Neuroscience Laboratories in Kyoto, Japan has gone a step further: his team has used an image of brain activity taken in a functional MRI scanner to recreate a black-and-white image from scratch. By analysing the brain signals when someone is seeing an image, we can reconstruct that image," says Kamitani." Would this be a successful app ? Please rate my idea as a reply from 1(bad idea) - 10(great idea) please.

Wasn't there a movie based upon this premise. Or maybe I'm just dreaming. :)

good one! But it would be really handy to have an app that can record your dreams for analyzing may be. Well let's see, the way technology is progressing - i have no doubt that there will be such app soon (either developed by me or some one else...)

I don't think it would be a success. There are so many X-rated movies already. ;) And people will probably rather see a pron movie with a well-known "actress" than with your mistress (not to mention your wife) ;P

I have plenty of doubt. So far it seems the technology is as follows... 1. show a person and image 2. note the brain activity patterns 3. get them to think of an image 4. recognise that pattern 5. show then the same image - but in blank a white So far, it sounds like a very expensive way of turning a colour image into a grayscale image! Can you post a link that could convince me otherwise?

I once dreamt that I was sat opposite Paul McCartney at a table and repeatedly smashing him in the face with an ashtray. This went on for quite some time until he said 'thank you' and his head caved in. Then I woke up. What do you think this means?

Every man can tell how many goats or sheep he possesses, but not how many friends.

Can you post a link that could convince me otherwise?

the mind reading isn't limited to a selection of existing images, but could potentially be used to "read off" anything that someone was thinking of, without prior knowledge of what that might be.
