Today is the first time in almost 6 months that we've gotten measurable rain in San Antonio.

oh good lord, I'll mail you some from Memphis then. We have had more than enough.

I was thinking it would be a good idea to send tanker trucks out there, scoop up some water, and brink it back here. I know it wouldn't actually help the flood zones, but it would certainly help Texas.

How have you been holding out down there? The images I've seen are horrible.

I really hoped to see it not earlier than in six months but it's snowing here again.

Brazos county is in our worst drought since like 1895. We really need more than a light sprinkling. Come on rain!

Don't blame me. I voted for Chuck Norris.

personally I'm not heavily effected, other than ruining my plans to go to Tunica casino's for our 18 year anniversary... I live about an hour east of the river and my house is high ground, IT would take a flood of biblical proportions to flood me out. The smaller rivers in the area are backed up to just under bridge decks, but again, its just in check for the moment and looks to be reversing the rise and dropping slowly now. However the city of Memphis proper most certainly has issues with a few hundred people currently homeless. Stretch that down to Tunica Cuttoff and other areas I think the number would run somewhere in the thousands camping out at shelters, family and friends due to their houses being reduced to a roof sticking out of the water.

We just need to hope there aren't any massive rainstorms in the lower Mississippi valley for the next few weeks; they really pushed 1927 from bad to catastrophic.

I have often had the impractical (impossible) thought that there needs to be a pipeline throughout the country to spread the water where needed.

Please be kind enough to send some of it to us in Houston today! We also have been "precipitation challenged" of late, and yesterday only got 0.1 inches. We could use about 10 more (not all at once though!)

Unfortunately that's the way it works in Houston. Random 1 mile square areas get 10 inches of rain while everywhere else is just $#$#@ hot and humid. :-D
