yah yah yah i know i'm late to the party but i had to install the minimum version of it to get word and excel for so docs and coding stuff i needed to test and wow! just wow! 1.49Gb (as in Giga.Bytes!!) for 2 apps and the UI is completely unusable to me as a casual user who has used office type apps since they were invented i'm sure there are people who will say "but it's better and you get used to it" but frankly i don't agree ... it occurred to me that since they lost the document format lock-in battle they are going for the UI lock-in strategy now ... i can see it already... "no sir we can't move to open office / google docs / etc, even though they are free / way cheaper and do almost all we need, because the retraining costs would be too high" i am, needless to say, shocked and horrified :|

I take it this is your first exposure to 'the ribbon'? It takes some getting used to. Fortunately most of the old accelerator keys still work.

I am a seasoned office user and am still forgetting where stuff is on the ribbon, feel sorry for those who are infrequent users!

Same here. The thing that annoyed me the most with the ribbon was how stuff that used to take a single click on a tool bar now requires half a dozen clicks to find on the ribbon.

delete this;exactly! i was trying to auto-fit some column widths in excel after 5 mins of looking in vain i gave up and this is an improvement? how exactly?

As for autofitting an Excel column, you just move the mouse to the separator to the right of the column header until it changes to the double arrow icon and double click: the same as always. The same works for rows.

I love new MS Office. Its GREAT. Dont know why they say that.:doh: But then, really, you'll get used to it. This is much more better than the earlier ones but similar to Office 2007. :cool:

The worst thing I find in the MS Office 2007 and 2010 is the old styled windows. Like the one comming in for Paragaraph related details, when u click on the --> south-east arrow on Layout tab's Page Layout section. X|
