I've finally found a school that offers a Masters degree program that doesn't automatically reject students with a less than stellar undergrad GPA. I've sent for more information, and the boss is going to ask our Board about possible financial assistance next month. I've taken continuing education classes from this school, and they're first rate, but I've only just learned that they offer classes online. University of Wisconsin[^] is looking very promising! :-D

But do they have bread and potatoes?

It was broke, so I fixed it.

I can bake bread and grow potatoes, so that part isn't too important. In a pinch, I still remember how to make a grilled cheese sandwich with aluminum foil and a steam iron, too, so I can get by. ;P

Just curious, how low of a GPA is a less than stellar GPA to you? I'm wondering for my own benefit, because I consider my GPA less than stellar.

For any program I've found to date, those with a GPA of less than 3.0 out of 4.0 need not apply. Mine was 2.3 to 2.6, depending on with classes you count; some schools only count the last 60 units of work, others the whole enchilada. In either case, they won't even look at my application. This outfit looks at the whole picture, and will even admit a marginal student to see how well he performs before formally admitting him to the programming, and classes taken prior to formal admission are counted. Many schools don't count courses taken prior to formal acceptance.

I'd think a less than stellar GPA would be one that is below the horizon. ;P

Let me know if you plan on making an in person visit to the campus. You can pick up some Spotted Cow there, too.

Well, considering GPA inflation in the last 15 or 20 years. I'd consider you GPA from the 1960's adjusted for inflation to be at least 3.5 now. :)
