I don't have the link with me at work, but there was a mother Missouri who murdered her children and tried to off herself to save them from the Tribulation. (Christians looking forward to the End Times are typically pre-Millenialists, meanging that they believe the time line is the Rapture, followed by a period of great trouble called the Tribulation which ends with the return of Jesus, who then destroys the world and remakes it into a paradise for the faithful. After a thousand years, this paradise earth is destroyed and the universe ceases to exist.)

I can only find a bunch of pages linking the same youtube video of the story, the lack of other sources is making me mildly skeptical.

How about being angry at the media for making this a front page news event for the last couple of weeks. Idiots. Marc

That goes without saying. This would not be a topic of discussion if it weren't for the media.

That brought instant recall of Monty Python's "Bring out your dead!" scene. Anything that brings up memories of Monty Python is, by definition, a good thing!

Far more likely he is in hiding with all the money he fleeced from his deluded followers.

I don't think you can equate the gullible and stupid ignoring 21st Century knowledge, reason, science and common sense to be taken in by this nutjob with someone having ADHD.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-13489641[^] Some people got rid of everything, even their kid's university fund. Part of me hopes they sue Hardold Campest & his snakeoil religion emporium out of existance, part of me is angry at them for being so gullible. The only upside is that it is likely that only the stupidest did this, hopefully this will improve the genepool as they can no longer compete with the less gullible. Good of the evangelicals to provide us with a demonstration of Darwinism!

That's the part that astounds me the most as well. That anyone who was certain to be face to face with his God wouldn't be rereading his holy books prior to the event.
