Do you REALLY want someone (or an animal) with a limited vocabulary and poor manual deterity anywhere near a firearm? I've seen that mix first-hand at my local firing range, and it's a truly scary thing to see.

Yeah, poetry, WTF is that about? How the hell is a dog supposed to have any interest in, let alone recite, poetry for christs sake? :)

They might understand German, but when it comes to talking... Have you ever heard a Dutch accent! :omg:

Lived in Amsterdam for 2 years, you talking about German in a Dutch accent? I did used to keep spelling stuff like Kiesergracht with the german spelling which irritated the dutch guys a bit.

No respectable dog would say something like that around here. They would of course get in after a small talk beginning with "Vee got vayz of ...."

The Nazis tried to train dogs to talk, read and spell to help them win World War II, it has been revealed. [^] I would have thought teaching them to rip enemy soldiers throats out would have sufficed but aparently not, the Germans thought teching dogs to count and talk would be better: (ruff voice) "Handen hogh! Ze war is over for you two Tommys!" Cant see it myself, especially as they hadnt taught the dogs to use machine guns. :)

Almost as good as the Russian anti-tank dogs - they were trained to associate the underbelly of tanks with food, then sent of onto the battlefield with packs of explosives strapped to their back, designed to go off when they were underneath a tank. Unfortunately, they had been trained on Russian tanks, not German ones, and the dogs could spot the difference!
