My team had a meet and greet session with a few people. Most of them were professionals but one of them appeared alcoholic and was wearing tanks. I am told he carried the stench of alcohol with him. Fortunately, I was busy elsewhere and could not make it to the meet and greet session. Am I biased or do other people here feel the same way about alcoholics?

Once had to do with one every day. Their behavior is much worse than what they smell like. Much worse.

The majority of alcoholics did not set out to make that their goal in life. Any alcoholic that is trying to get back onto the straight and narrow deserves help and encouragement: somewhat like some of the posters of questions on CP.

Attending meetings scruffily dressed and smelling of alcohol does not necessarily indicate alcoholism! :looks skyward: :whistles: :)

Alcoholics need encouragement to get better rather than biased and uneducated and unproductive comments. Don't get me wrong, drinking or being drunk in the workplace is wrong.

You should not mock the afflicted. I suspect that you are quite young, based purely on way that you attribute alcoholism to someone from a, reported only, smell of alcohol and his visual appearance. Am I biased or do other people here feel that the young jump to conclusions far too rapidly and with little evidence?

You should not mock the afflicted. I suspect that you are quite young, based purely on way that you attribute alcoholism to someone from a, reported only, smell of alcohol and his visual appearance. Am I biased or do other people here feel that the young jump to conclusions far too rapidly and with little evidence?
