Not as bad as I thought it was going to be, annd Ian McShane was actually quite good. However, am I alone in thinking 3d is a bit shite? Some shots were done just to show how clever the technical direction is, and didn't really advance the story. I find it distracting and needless. I would prefer a slightly better edited 2d version.

The entire 3D experience is not what it should be (yet). I always compare it with looking at you're mirror image via an actual mirror or a window. 3D is like looking via the window. The concept is there, but it is not detailed enough to 'convince' you of the real thing. :~

No. Its excessive, over the top, annoying and silly.

Went to watch this movie with the family yesterday. The movies sucks. Halfway through the movie we took a vote on how many of us wanted to leave immediately. Even the kids who liked POTC 1 ,2 and 3 supported the idea.

Agree. But I(Well, everybody) like the 1st & 2nd parts very much & I'm sure any sequel can't beat those.

I liked the first; the second felt like a "we'll turn this into a trilogy so this film is just filler"-film.

Watched the first last night with my daughter. Second irritated me, cos of what you said, they stretched it out to the point of nothing so it could be the middle bit of a trilogy with the second half of that story saved for the next film. I actually thought the third was better, although that may just be because it finally got around to finishing the story from the third rather than it being any good.

3D panders to those who think Terminator 2 is a better film than the original, those who like flashes and bangs and don't want to think at all. Those who need to be distracted at frequent intervals to sit through a whole film.

There's 3D movies, and there's movies in 3D. Just as there are special effects movies and movies with special effects. I go to movies to see movies, not special effects or 3D. If either of I notice either of those that is a sign that it was done poorly.

I saw it last night. Ironically a pirate copy so obviously 2D. As for 3D the only film worth seeing in that form is Avatar.

Just wait until the Marketing people start touting (one-way) 4-D. The movie starts, and the next thing you know, you're two hours into the future  If the movie is really bad and you ask for your 2 hours back, they can say "Sorry, one way trip only"
