Collaborative project in London (City)

I hesitate to post here, as some of you are known for your sharp tongue and fast wit, but, here goes: I want to set up a small team to work on a project in a collaborative manner. Its a closed project (i.e. it won't be open source) and I'm not in a position to pay anyone (yet)... Does anyone have a (constructive, please) comment on how best to find like-minded people? Is there a website (or several)? Thanks in advance.

Well posting here is probably a good start, there are also a few coder for hire type sites, but having never frequented any of them for more than 30 seconds, I honestly can't give you the names of any. Google is your friend there. The only issue I can see with the project being closed is that you would need to sort out ownership up front for anyone involved. And be very clear about decision making etc. E.g. You might want to retain 51% ownership so you have full control, but are you going to do 51% of the work? These sorts of situations can get messy and it's best to hammer out an agreement up front and put it in writing (not necessarily legal documents, but some sort of an agreed position). At least then anyone who doesn't like those terms can avoid getting involved, rather than getting sucked in during the euphoric "this is cool" phase, only to get miffed during the "ok let's figure out the legalities of this" phase. Don't fully rule our Open Source either. There are trade offs in everything. Good Luck -Richard

Perhaps try LinkedIn[^]? Do you mean to all work physically together in the city or virtually? What sort of project is it?
