360 Having repaired many of both here are my main couple of reasons. 1. The blue-ray player on the ps3 will burn out much faster than the regular laser drive on the 360. If I want a blue ray player I'll freakin buy one. 2. Having been very intimate with the internal workings of both,,, the 360 is more robust. 3. While I have in the past had a couple of red rings, they have since improved the design of the 360 in that regard, the playstation gets em too, its just called the YLOD(Yellow Light Of Death) 4. I have never had a 360(and I've fixed close to 2,000 of them) that was bricked to a software update, it was 3 main problems, disc drive, overheat(red ring) or burnt out resistor that killed power(fixed that too they did supposedly). I HAVE had a few dozen ps3s that were irreparably bricked by a bad system update from Sony, or by an update getting interrupted halfway through etc... 5. My personal opinion is that the 360 has a better online gaming community(as far as number of players at any given point), but that could just be Ive been lucky on that. 6. 360's live player info has not yet been hacked and stolen.... lol Neither one is as reliable as a Nintendo gaming system but, Nintendo does not have the high quality games for shooters etc...

Whatever your friends play, the worst things is having the wrong console and never being able to play online with them. PS your friends have xbox.

XBox, because Sony is evil. Though my crossfire'd Radeon 4850s leave any console system in the dust, and they're not even top-of-the-line.

I have both. My ps3 does nothing but collect dust. It isn't even very good at playing blu-ray discs. The xbox live service is the best thing 360 has going for it. Hosted servers for all the games so you don't have to cross your fingers hoping EA hasn't left their only 2 game servers offline again.

well, we're considerign getting one partly so we can watch the rugby world cup on it as Foxtel here in Australia have a 1 month min contract for their xbox service, but when you buy their normal package you have to sign up for a year Bryce
