Web signal to noise

Is it me or the signal to noise in web development low, frankly coming from a long win forms background I find web development a right royal pain which can very easily become a messy nightmare. Were still not there yet in my opinion, and don't get me started on the multitude of technologies you have to use to get a decent web page running.

Depends on your point of view. I do mostly web and love it but equally happy fiddling with winforms. Each has it's own idiosyncrasies: you just have to get used to them and they fade.
