So I spent the last 2 weeks creating something which I think is pretty cool and got a captive market in our country (I'm creating HaaS thingy, spreading out embedded device to deliver various data over SMS) It's partially working now, and I need a partner to run this, so I started to find.. But why is it so hard to find a partner? This is even harder than finding the right wife. Like last night conversation, a friend of mine simply said SMS is dead, and I should be doing something else. Oh man, I feel like he's punching my face. If you're starting something, how do you find the right partner and also keep your passion alive?

If you need venture capital to get your idea off the ground, perhaps put together a presentation and get yourself a gig at one of the "angel funding" type breakfasts... if your idea is as good as you believe it is, there will be people there interested in helping you... Be that financially, or simply offering you advice...

That's not difficult; just ask her, she'll tell you she's right.

Thanks Damian. I don't think there's a venture capital here in our country. But what I need most is not money, it's partner to run this especially on the marketing side. Oh speaking of venture capital or angel funding, this reminds me of the last book I read: Founders at work[^] Funny yet inspiring!

"But what I need most is not money," That is exactly what you need. You get a loan, get the money, then pay them to do all the things you can't or don't want to do. Heck if you just totally want to focus on your new business venture, hire someone to the day-to-day stuff you don't like, maybe the mowing. Or car washing, or watching romantic comedy movies with the wife :)

I tried this once, and I'm afraid it didn't work. They only do what you tell them to do, with no creativity at all. This really is bad for the startup. Partnering with someone from the beginning is the only way to go (I think). Because your partner know they own the company too, and have the same responsibility with me to make this thing bigger.
