I am in pain today. In fact, for the last few days my pain has been increasing. Apparently I have overworked my index finger. Just resting it on my left mouse button causes muscle spasms and twitching. Occasionally, the whole darn finger just tenses up and goes straight. Anyone else experince this? I have tried massaging the finger but it doesn't help (perhaps I need a vacation). I am reduced to clicking with my "bird" finger. Perhaps a visit to the doctor is in order... -- If it starts to make sense, you're in a cult.

Perhaps a visit to the doctor is in order... Perhaps learn keyboard shortcuts. Or get one of those mouth pointer things the handicapped people use. (perhaps I need a vacation) Mmmm. Maybe I need one too! Marc Help! I'm an AI running around in someone's f*cked up universe simulator.

Yep. I had this, and also a pain in my wrist and fore arm than would come and go from time to time - even when I was in bed at night. At first I thought ahh, got to be a man about this. Not going to let a plastic box defeat me. Check your posture. - make sure your keyboard is at a good angle. I normally have the stands up at the back as well as some extra CD's to give it some more tilt. Get a mouse pad with wrist rest - oh, and stop using the mouse so much. Make sure your high up enough. Also, there is a food supliment called Bio-Astin, that helps with Capel Tunnel Syndrome - allegedly. I'm not saying it works, but it went away after taking it for a few weeks in combination with fixing my posture.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try mousing with my left hand. I have already adjusted my chair. We'll just have to wait a few days for results. I'm a willing victim beta tester. DANG! I keep reaching for the mouse with my right hand! -- If it starts to make sense, you're in a cult.

Take an anti-inflammatory, like Cataflam, to relief the pain, take it easy on the keyboard & mouse, and most important, go see a doctor, fast! I see dumb people

I get this now and again. My index and middle (mousewheel) finger get sore and often twitch on their own for long periods. It comes and goes.

Hey, you might at least get the placebo effect out of it. :-D The suggestion to switch mouse hands is a good one. I did that a while back, and have never had problems since. Part of it also may be that since my mouse hand is now my non-dominant hand, I have more incentive to use keyboard shortcuts. Wow, take this thread, and mine about back pain, we programmers go through a lot of pain on the job, eh? Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Sounds like you need to perform some other form of exercise with your right hand.
