The Divorce Is Final

It lasted five years. It was great when it started, but I knew she was high maintenance going in. She has a thing about cats. Big cats. She had a tiger when we met. I got her a leopard. Then a snow leopard. This summer I am going to get her a lion because even though we have split we are still friends. Looking back, the beginning of the end was her fascination with her beach ball. Pretty rainbow colors. She just loved to watch it spin, but I needed to get work done. It was all down hill from there. The more I wanted to work, the more she played with the beach ball. I have someone new now. Actually, not new. I have known her a long time, but some how her faults don't seem so bad anymore. Oh wait, you thought . . .? No, I am not talking about my wife. We are fine. It's me and Apple. Irreconcilable differences. And, yes, I am keeping my iMac, mainly to keep my wife and kids off my real system. :-D

Yeah, I knew what you meant. So you're what, not using a Mac yourself anymore ? Why ? What did you use it for ?

When I bought it I wasn't developing in Windows. It just makes more sense now to have a PC. I dabble in digital photography and I have Photoshop Elements on the Mac. Big memory hog.

Fair enough. As it's dual boot and I do SOME OSX work, having a Mac makes a lot more sense to me. Plus, nothing beats iPhoto.

It's not just apple. My mantra during the Vista pre-release hype was "I don't need a Wow! factor, I need a ****in' word processor!" They didn't listen, even when they got to Weven. They kept the Wow! and killed the word-processor.

Me? I'm getting married to an iMac next week. If I'd known that you were getting divorced I'd have taken yours as a mistress.
