text editor with the best UI (icons, windows layout)?

For the programmers who write code daily, do you care about the UI of your text editors? I personally dislike the ui of source insight (its UI is very out dated), but it's still a preferred editor. I came to another editor named 010editor some day ago, I found that I like its UI. But unfortunatedly I need some functions which it doesnot provide. I spend some time (yesterday and today, maybe my boss should give me more work to do?) on the net just try to find a editor whose UI can give me some interest to try it, but I'm not satisfied by my result. Are you guys are same serious about the UI of a editor as I am, if so, do you have any recommandations? (Here UI mainly refers to the icons, windows layout, color schemas. I'm not asking for the best functions) PS, I asked the same question on stacko******.com, but 5 people rushed in and closed my question within several minutes! I'm amazed by their efficiency, I agree with their reasons though.

Almost all of the code I develop, I do so within VS - it works, 95% of the time and it gives me Intellisense which makes up for any lack of features. If I need serious editing, I either write an app to do that, or I use PSPad.

Do you work for Microsoft (Source Insight is pretty popular in MS)? Anyway, I like my editor to have minmal UI and a rich set of keyboard commands; vim is my current editor of choice: not perfect, but close enough.

(global) text editors aren't very advanced, it isn't meant to be. I'm using Notepad++ for my text files and coding snippets. When programming an actual application (.Net), I use VS2010 on my desktop and SharpDevelop for my laptop.

Totally agree. 90% of the time I write code in VS, but the other 10% it's in UltraEdit. UE is also what I use for most of my HTML editing.

Yes, my HTML is also done in UE... And with the .uenc files that can be downloaded in their web page I use it to program robots and other industrial systems with syntax highligthing... a really nice improvement comparing to some options that robot manufacturers are giving me... :thumbsup:
