Um, I don't think the USA was ever a colony. Maybe some states?
Since then, the island has struggled with high crime, a hefty debt burden and inefficient government.
And how is this different to the UK?

Why would we want the USA back? Do you realy want a country full of these people in the Empire? :laugh: Repost, but fits the bill perfectly[^]

It is not a question of Want. Once I we have control of the Empire, The Imperial Senate will no longer be of any concern to us. I shall dissolve the council permanently. The last remnants of the Old Republic will be swept away forever.

Indeed: the British Empire was not something our wimpy politicos should be apologising for; rather it should be applauded. Yes, there were mistakes but, by and large, the empire brought peace and prosperity to large swathes of the world's peoples. As an ex-colonial I know what I'm talking about. :-)

Maybe, but my real point is that the United States of America probably didn't exist til after a bunch of non affiliated tobacco, sugar and rum merchants kicked your shiny red asses out and decided that they may like to form a country.

And expanded the slave trade, repressed local religions, culture and languages, suppressed people who said "actually we want to run our own affairs our own way, thank you very much, and by the way what happened to all our natural resources?", introduced diseases that decimated populations, etc, etc. But apart from that, viniculture, roads and sanitation...

But doesn't it mean everybody gets a shot at becoming British PM and in British parliament? Then it wouldn't be like British rule but you guys will be ruled by somebody else depending on the number of representative USA ,India and South Africa can send to British parliament. Do you really want this to happen? Surly you are not expecting countries to agree to the way British ruled long back. :)

Um, I may be wrong and will bow to your superior knowledge, but War of Independance - 1775–1783 Constitution adopted on September 17, 1787 Suggests to me that the USA did not exist before the brits were kicked out. By about 4 years.
Does 1776 ring any bells? And what of the 15 Presidents of the United States that were there BEFORE George Washington, did they not count?
