For the first time regretting using my real name to register on here, really want to unload about my current employment but probably not a smart move. Giving up and going home to chop down a tree, see if that helps, if not may create a sock puppet account just for venting that cannot be traced back to me. Otherwise check back in a little over three months (hopefully). I have had some really, really shitty days in the last couple of months, all of them have been Wednesdays. Think I'm just going swap and start working on Sundays or Saturdays instead. Every single word that someone has said to me today has pissed me off one way or another. Fucking fuckity fuck fuck.

Try a neighbor's tree, if one of yours doesn't work.

AFAIK 'William Norman-Walker' is absolutely unique. Total known world population of Norman-Walker is 19, all descended from my paternal Grandfather.

Yeah, my surname was changed a few generations ago when they came to the US... I might have some distant cousins over in Europe, but I don't know what the original name was.

Proud to have finally moved to the A-Ark. Which one are you in?

You are now officially on my s**t list. I read this post and 5 minutes later my Wednesday went to hell in a hand-basket on a greased pole. I blame you for contamination of the ether... My boss's last day was this past Thursday, he was the IT director and handled networking crap. I am the programmer and handled that side of the IT office(just the two of us). They have not yet replaced him so the rest of the company sees me as the IT department. After reading your post, Great plains broke down(payroll)with some funky sql error, half of the workstations on the floor decided not to log into terminal server, printers quit working... @#@#$@#$ I am not a network guy but have to fix all this. I have not even looked at code today(even though I have a couple of automated reports for THE boss that are not working) and have been running in circles with little to no clue as to what the hell I am doing but somehow managing to get things duct taped together... my hairs turning white as we speak and starting to fall/get pulled out. I have to blame something/somebody for this fiasco and your post is the most reasonable explanation I can come up with.

Programming is a race between programmers trying to build bigger and better idiot proof programs, and the universe trying to build bigger and better idiots, so far... the universe is winning. Be careful which toes you step on today, they might be connected to the foot that kicks your butt tomorrow.

My first CP name was my own. Luckily, I came to my senses awhile back. FWIW, you can change your name I believe, but unless you also go back and delete every post you made under your original name, your account will still point to all of them.
