One's not supposed to feed babies salty food. But my son is soon 11 months old, and you have to start sometime. So today it was the first time he tried BACON. And I was rewarded with the sound of happiness and a big smile. He loved it. Now, how do I break this news to an (overly?) health conscious mother?

I've a similar problem: Siro is 2 years old and likes chocolate very much (it's a secret, please don't divulgate).

Give her some bacon. She will be assimilated. Resistance is futile, as we all know... On a serious note, I have a cousin who married a similarly misguided woman. Their kids have not been allowed to taste chocolate, play outside on a rainy day, have snacks that contain sugar, eat fruits that are not "organic." These kids are always sick. They catch everything imaginable because they have no naturally-developed immunities. This kind of "mothering" should be classified as child abuse.

One need only look at all the fake meats in the vegetarian aisle to know that they're all still closet carnivores. IIRC facon is one my sister considers inedible. X|
