Ok, there might be locality element there, but it's still English, isn't it?

Not most, maybe a few. A large number of Indian CPians do not speak or understand Hindi (including myself).

The Canadians are the worst. They haven't figured out yet if they are British or American and so use a mix of both! And try to hide this lack of verbal originality by adding eh to everything. :-D

If you head over the GIT, I would tell you in about 40 posts (all using abusive language), they never really had any ability at all!

Then this page [^]may be a useful guide for the non-Indians amongst us. Surprisingly, most of the items mentioned are also in quite common usage in the UK, though many do sound slightly old fashioned.

Yeah, but again that assumes that all Indians use English derived from a Hindi grammar base. Depending on your Indian native language, your adaptation of English will change. It's kinda like how here in the States, everyone assumes there is a single British accent when that's not true. Similarly Indian accents/English-dialects are many in number. And in India, people from different states mock the English accents used in other states. Yeah, we love each other out there! :-D

Leading to the phrase about a guy who knocked up his girl - "he had plenty of lead in his pencil, but didn't have a rubber on the end of it"

Yeah it is, just as American English is English too. But the Brits won't accept either of those, and continue to insist that their version is the only version. So the rest of the world just humor them and pretend to agree with that! :-D

I haven't noticed too many unusual expressions or words on that forum. One could argue that Australian English is another language: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jdjuq7bhSUs[^]

That's the problem with all these extra words, you can never tell if you're being insulted or not.
It depends on the situation. If you are getting stuff like this in an email from a call center employee or from a counterpart in India, you are not being insulted. Here on CP, yes you are! :-D

The thing about the Chinese section is that five minutes after you post a message, you feel you need to post another one.
